    Josh has been with Charter Bank since September of 2014. As Assistant Vice President – Branch Manager he enjoys working with consumer and business clients throughout Ankeny and the surrounding communities.

     

    He grew up in Ankeny, graduated from Ankeny High School and went on to graduate from Grand View University with a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Josh started his banking career in 2006. Throughout his banking career he has held different roles: Teller, Personal Banker, Customer Care Representative and Loan Administrator; all prior to being Loan Officer.

     

    He enjoys being active in the Ankeny community where he is a member of the Ankeny Little League Board and the Ankeny Junior Football Board.

     

    Josh, his wife and kids live in Ankeny. They like to watch sports, specifically the Buckeyes and Packers. They also enjoy playing basketball, football, baseball and soccer and Josh appreciates having the opportunity to coach his kids in those activities as well. When they aren’t playing or watching sports they also enjoy watching movies and spending time with family.

    Nick started with Charter Bank in 2016 as a Manager in Grimes. Now as VP, Market Manager - from managing staff, servicing customers, any and all lending needs from big to small, running a teller window to setting up new accounts - Nick likes to follow the model of, “…run it like you own it.”

     

    He graduated from Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, played college football and went on to graduate from Southeast Missouri State University with a BA in Organizational Leadership. Right out of college, Nick began his banking career in Missouri, moved home to Louisiana and worked for a few banks as Manager and Small Business Banker, and then decided to move to Iowa for a safer place to raise his kids with a better public school system, and landed at Charter Bank.

     

    Nick enjoys volunteering and being involved in his community. He is President, Director of Fields and a Select Coach for Dallas Center-Grimes Soccer Club; a member of the Dallas Center-Grimes Booster Club; a member of the St. Peter’s Men’s Group and a Grimes Chamber Ambassador. He also runs the chain gang for Dallas Center-Grimes High School Football, volunteers at his children’s schools, coaches football kicking lessons and referees for local soccer games.

     

    He lives with his wife and their 3 children on an acreage in Dallas Center. In their free time they like to be outdoors. They have goats, chickens, cats and cows on their acreage as well as an acre of corn. If they’re not at home you can find them at the soccer fields or on a track.

    As Charter Bank’s CEO, Matt oversees the day-to-day operations and all aspects of all four bank locations, as well as the overall strategy of the bank. Matt started with Charter Bank in July of 2002. He grew up in Ankeny, graduated from Ankeny High School and went on to graduate from The University of Northern Iowa in 2002 with a BA in Finance. Starting his banking career in 1999, Matt has enjoyed working in all facets of banking from the teller line, to operations to lending; which made him a great candidate for CEO at Charter Bank. 

     

    Matt is involved in numerous organizations including serving as Treasurer and board member for the Grimes Storehouse, a board member for the Johnston Economic Development Corporation (JEDCO), a member of the Iowa School of Banking Advisory Board and a board member for the Iowa Bankers Mortgage Corporation. He is a member of Grimes Lions Club and is a regular blood donor at LifeServe Blood Center. He previously served as a member of his church’s Council and Stewardship Committee and as a volunteer coach for various sports through the Grimes Parks and Rec.

     

    Matt and his wife have 3 children and live in Grimes. In their free time they like to ride bikes, play cornhole, walk their dogs and attend the kids’ extracurricular activities.

    As Charter Bank’s Chief Operating Officer, Sharm is responsible for the overall operations of the Bank which includes data processing, computer operations, financial and regulatory reporting and supporting staff in their respective daily needs.

     

    Sharm started with Charter Bank in 2007.  He is from a small town in eastern Iowa where he grew up working in his family owned bank.  This opportunity laid the foundation for his passion to always work for a true community bank like Charter Bank.

     

    Sharm graduated from Iowa State University in 1985 with a BBA with an emphasis in Finance.  After graduation, he stayed in central Iowa working for 3 other community banks before joining Charter Bank.  He is active in the Johnston Chamber of Commerce and is currently serving as treasurer.  Sharm and his wife ReDawn live in Johnston and have two grown boys. They enjoy being involved with their church and in their spare time they enjoy each other’s company, spending time with family, cheering on the Cyclones, watching movies on the BIG screen and an occasional round of golf.

    Mark started at Charter Bank in September of 2019. As Vice President of Commercial Lending he manages existing commercial business partners and develops and supports new relationships.

     

    He grew up in Cedar Rapids, graduated from Kennedy High School and went on to graduate from Coe College with BA degrees in Accounting and Business Administration with emphases in Finance, Strategic Management, and Marketing. He started his banking career as a Home Mortgage Loan Officer, transitioned to a Personal Banker and then worked as a Senior Business Banking Specialist before starting with Charter Bank.

     

    He enjoys staying active in the Johnston Chamber of Commerce where he is currently a member of the Ambassador Committee and also volunteers for various other events in the community and the surrounding communities in the Des Moines Metro.

     

    Mark lives in West Des Moines and in his spare time likes to golf and spend time with his nephew and two nieces.

    As Compliance Officer, Angie is responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the Bank's Compliance Management Program. She plans, organizes, and controls the Bank's day-to-day administrative, lending and operational compliance activities.

    Angie grew up on an acreage outside of Churdan, IA. She graduated from Southern Calhoun High School and went on to graduate from UNI with a Bachelors in Elementary/Middle Level Education.

    Prior to banking, she worked as an educator for 10 years, a county Tourism & Events Coordinator and she owned a musical theatre company where we did two productions a year. Angie began my banking career in 2016 as an Operations Manager in a rural community bank with metro branches. She transitioned into Compliance in early 2020. 

    Angie is involved in numerous organizations in her community.  She has spent many years on multiple boards including the Greene County Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson Matters; Main Street, The Friends of the Jefferson Public Library, the Greene County Community Players, and more.  She currently volunteers with Jefferson’s Tower View Team, an organization responsible for displays of public art in Greene County. 

    Angie resides in Jefferson with her husband, Jon and in her free time she enjoys spending time with her two poodles – Bingo and Jeffrey, making things (knitting, crocheting, macramé), she collects midcentury modern dishes, clothing and furnishings. Angie also has two grown sons, Jonas and Noah.

    Corey started as a Teller at Charter Bank in June of 2001. In the last 20 years, he has moved up the ranks to become BSA Officer, Security Officer and Assistant Cashier and is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation and administration of all aspects of the corporate-wide Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Compliance Program and the Bank’s Security Program.

     

    Corey grew up in Southwest North Dakota (Bowman and Dickinson), graduated from South East Polk High School and went on to graduate with an associate’s degree in Management from Hamilton College.

     

    He enjoys staying active in the community by serving as Treasurer for the Grimes Lions Club. Corey also volunteers for various other events in the community and the surrounding communities in the Des Moines Metro.

     

    Corey resides with his wife, Amy, in Grimes where their two children attend DC-G schools. In his free time he likes to fish and spend time with his family.

    Greg is President and Market Manager for Charter Bank in Waukee. He said,“I work with a great and experienced staff that I am fortunate to have on my team.” Along with managing the Waukee branch, his primary responsibilities include commercial and ag lending, overseeing Charter Bank’s lending department and serving on committees such as Loan Committee and Asset Liability Committee. 

     

    He grew up on a farm in Shelby County, IA and graduated from high school in Harlan, IA. While attending Iowa State University he worked at a local bank as a part-time teller from sophomore to senior year. In 2006, after graduating with a BS in Business Finance, he started with Charter Bank as a Loan Officer. Being from a small town, he knew working for a smaller, community focused bank was where he wanted to work. 

     

    Greg enjoys staying involved in the Waukee community. He recently finished a four-year term serving on the Board of Directors for the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce, where he also served as Treasurer. He continues to stay active in the Chamber as a member. Greg has been a member of the Waukee Downtown Business Group since 2010 where he has served as Treasurer and Secretary. This group plays a key role in Waukee downtown events including the Farmers Market, WinterFest and the 4th of July celebration. Other volunteer activities in the community include serving on the Waukee Downtown Façade Improvement Committee, assisting at his church and volunteering at various other community and local events. 

     

    He lives with his family on an acreage in Waukee. They enjoy spending time outside as much as they can which includes fishing, golfing, biking and camping. One of their favorite evenings is filled with family and friends that includes socializing, yard games and a relaxing fire pit. Greg and his wife’s roots of growing up in the country finds them hanging out or helping on their family farms as well.

    Erin began with Charter Bank in June 2017 as a Loan Analyst after graduating from Iowa State University with a BS in Accounting. She grew up in Johnston and graduated from Johnston High School. In 2019, Erin became a Loan Officer and most recently, Assistant Vice President Lending. She works on Residential, Consumer and Business Purpose loans from start to finish; assists and sets up business online banking customers; does appraisal reviews; monitors HMDA; and answers questions and provides customer service to customers.

     

    Erin volunteers in her community by acting as the Chair of the Waukee Young Professionals, which is a group of individuals that either work or live in Waukee who are looking to make business connections, volunteer, and support local businesses.  

     

    She lives with her husband in Waukee. In their free time they like to go for walks, binge watch TV shows and golf together.

    As Loan Officer, Brien enjoys assisting clients in determining the right product for them; whether it is a consumer loan (mortgage, home equity or personal loan), or a commercial loan.

    He grew up in a rural farming community – Victor, Iowa. Brien graduated from Hartwick-Ladora-Victor High School and went on to graduate from AIB College of Business with a BA in Business Administration. After college he started with Wells Fargo for a brief time and then went to work at Principal Financial Group. He began in the participant call center and then moved on to phone sales for retirement planning servicing. From there he moved to an analyst position for close to two and half years and then onto management for the last two years.

    Brien and his wife, Brittany, reside in Waukee along with their two dogs. They enjoy spending time with their nieces and nephews as well as playing golf, and watching football and basketball – especially Iowa State. Brien also enjoys automotive detailing during his free time.
