Your Money is Safe With Charter Bank

Given the safety and soundness of the banking system has recently come into question, we want to assure you that your money is safe with Charter Bank.  Iowa banks in general are a source of strength and stability.  In total, more than 99% of Iowa banks are “highly capitalized” and far above most stringent regulatory standards.  At Charter Bank we take our role of being a safe and sound bank very seriously.  The business model of the banks that have been in the news does not at all resemble that of Charter Bank.  Charter Bank relies on our relationships with small businesses and consumers to help grow deposits and in turn, lend in our communities.  Charter Bank is well capitalized and has strong liquidity.  We do not make risky investments and do not hold any deposits of crypto-currency firms.

FDIC Insurance provides insurance on deposits up to $250,000 in eight separate account categories per bank.  In the 88-year history of the FDIC no one has ever lost a penny of an insured deposit.  The FDIC is completely funded by the banking industry and every bank pays risk-based premiums each quarter to support the fund.

While we understand that the events that have occurred recently have raised questions, rest assured we are here to help provide clarity in what can be confusing times.  We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year serving our communities and appreciate the trust you have placed in us to allow us to serve our communities for years to come.  If you would like to see further resources on FDIC coverages please see below.  If you have any further questions, please contact us at 515-331-2265.
