Introducing Stacy Kadner-Johnston, who joined Charter Bank at the beginning of March. She is Universal Banker/Lead Teller for Charter Bank’s Ankeny location and comes to us with 18 years of banking experience.
Stacy grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Southeast Polk High School. After graduating, she attended college at DMACC on the Ankeny campus while working as a part-time teller at a local bank. She graduated from DMACC in 1994 with degrees in Business and Management and became a full-time teller at the bank where she had been working part-time. Stacy worked in banking for 14 more years as a teller and teller supervisor in the Des Moines Metro until 2012 when she got married and became a “bonus mom” for 2 teenage boys. At this time, she decided to stay home full-time and focus on her family.
After a few years, Stacy went back to work in customer service at Unity Point and The Iowa Clinic and also spent 2 years as a Sales and Service Assistant for a Farm Bureau Insurance Agent in Ankeny. She was furloughed in 2020 due to Covid and realized that her heart was actually in banking.
Stacy enjoys being involved in the Ankeny community where she volunteers actively with her church. She is a Nursery Team lead, Ruth Harbor Annual Fundraising Banquet table host, Meals from the Heartland team captain, and an Adopt-a-Family coordinator over the holidays.
She lives with her husband, Jon, in Ankeny and they have a second home (an acreage) between Stuart, IA and Greenfield, IA. Her son, Travis, and his family also live in Ankeny and her son, Joel, lives in Des Moines.
Stacy enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren, niece, and nephews.
